Which exposure target do you use ?
The Expo Disc, Westcott Digital Calibration Target, QPcard, and the GretagMacbeth Grayscale Card are all ways to get the correct exposure and to find your custom white balance for your particular photo scenario. Each tool seems to have a particular place it works best in. Although they will all work in every situation, sometimes it's easier to wear something around your neck or keep in a pocket than to carry something that will easily bend or is a little bulky. On the other hand, there are still times when the bigger targets are needed and are handier. Choosing the right white balance target can only be determined by the scenario in which you are mostly in and/or by any of the pro photo lab’s requests that helps them set the white balance, and black and white points as they print your photos. Among the wedding photographers, the Expo Disc may be the better choice due to easibility and the convenience of it. Within the commercial realm, the Westcott Digital Calibration Target and the GretagMacbeth Grayscale Card are possibly a better choice. Portrait photographers could easily use the Expo Disc, Digital Calibration Target or the GretagMacbeth Grayscale Card depending on the location of the shot. The QPcard works best when shooting very small items and need to pin point an exposure measurement or to just include it within the first shot of a series under the same lighting to use later in a photo editing software or to help your pro photo lab with the white balancing and exposures. Determining the exposure target that fits your needs will definitely need to be thought through, unless you would just like to have one of each way to cover any situation that may arise.
